Scott M. Brown, JD Associate Director, Securities and Regulatory Compliance, MarketCounsel

Scott Brown serves as Counsel at MarketCounsel and is an Associate of the Hamburger Law Firm, an affiliated boutique law firm providing the securities industry with unparalleled legal counsel. At MarketCounsel, he is primarily responsible for providing assistance to RIA Incubator clients and members of the RIA Institute of Compliance Management. At the Hamburger Law Firm, his current work concentrates in the areas of the regulation and compliance of investment advisers and broker-dealers.

Previously, Mr. Brown was an associate at Cole, Schotz, Meisel, Forman & Leonard. Scott is admitted to the bars of New Jersey and New York, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Scott earned his undergraduate degree in political science from Union College. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law, graduating with honors. During law school, he was a member of The Pace Law Review, serving as an editor.

Scott lives in northern New Jersey.
